GTA IV - what do you think?

My first hour of playing GTA4... So I arrived in Liberty City, met up with a relative, he was in a spot of bother so I helped him out. This caught the eye of a slightly more competent criminal. Now I do some jobs for him. I've bought some new clothes and taken a girl out. I'll probably forget about her and drive cars around for a bit. For me, mission for mission exactly the same as San Andreas so far with better GFX. Will it get better the more I unlock? Not too inspired to stick with it and find out at the moment. Amy I missing some sort of point?
