Cowell unleashes his inner Rock Star

Don’t let the urbane demeanour and super-neat haircut fool you – X-Factor supremo Simon Cowell is actually a hard-rocking wannabe axe-hero in his spare time…

According to Cowell’s brother Nick, talking to Channel Five in a new show called ‘Simon Cowell: Where Did it All Go Right?’: “We were both into bands like Mud and Status Quo when we were growing up. He was a very frustrated guitar player. He’s got that game Guitar Hero and at night, if you go past his bedroom, you can hear it and him jumping around.”

So there it is, incontrovertible proof. Well, sort of. We’re not sure what’s worse, though – Cowell’s dodgy musical taste or the disturbing mental picture we’ve just conjured up of him rocking out just before bedtime with his jim-jams tucked in!

Either way there’s no faulting his choice of videogame entertainment – Guitar Hero is excellent fun in all its many guises. Fellow X-Factor judges Amanda Holden and Piers Morgan are also fans, by all accounts.

Well, we guess that just goes to show that you can’t judge a book by its cover. So what’s your secret, late-night video-gaming pleasure…?
