The Fat Lady’s singing at the LA Convention Centre now. But as the dust settles and the decontamination squads move in we’re asking one question: Which one of the Big 3 platform holders stole the show?
Microsoft kicked off first with a great software line-up, full Xbox 360 game downloads, new music, movie/TV and social networking applications that should improve the Box’s prospects no end, a pair of Beatles, Steven Spielberg and, of course, Project Natal. If this full body motion-sensing wonder-device delivers what it promises Microsoft may well re-define video games as we know and love ‘em. Seriously!
Next up Nintendo, whose keynote seemed very low key in comparison. Bombs were still dropped, though. Zelda’s absence was more than compensated by a brace of Mario games, Wii Sports Resort looks like a riot and the new MotionPlus accessory promises to refine the Wii experience significantly. And what about the pulse-monitoring Vitality Sensor? Scoff at your peril, we say. Remember how we once laughed at the Balance Board too.
Finally Sony, who, it’s fair to say, were not about to be outdone by anybody. Exclusive games to die for – Uncharted 2, MAG, Last Guardian, ModNation Racers, Final Fantasy XIV, God of War 3, Gran Turismo 5 and Agent, a brand newie from GTA IV developers Rockstar. Also a highly desirable addition to the PSP family and Sony’s own punt in the motion sensing market. The new Motion Controller is only a prototype at present but is already showing WiiMote-beating promise. Crucially it’s out before Natal hits the shelves too.
Three great showcases from the three big console manufacturers, then. So which was best? All things considered we’re ranking them:
1. Microsoft
2. Sony
3. Nintendo
That’s because we think Microsoft had the best of everything and really blew our socks off with Project Natal. Meanwhile Sony’s software line-up was awesome by any measure and Nintendo was undoubtedly solid but probably had less to prove.
Tough call, though. But if that’s not the correct order what do you think is – and why?

Posted by: antonia_redican on Tue Jun 09 04:55PM | Report abusewow steven spielberg,he knows a lot about computer games....? everything microSOFT previewed is already on ps3,FACT! most of their ideas are stolen tech,FACT!
Posted by: richardjharrigan on Tue Jun 09 05:18PM | Report abuseRichard, not really. Microsoft actually turned the game around on sony with the original xbox, and now the 360. Matter of the fact is, sony blatently copied the wii, and Microsoft came out with something innovative. Again.

Posted by: ps3kid on Tue Jun 09 05:48PM | Report abusesony was the best for me, they have some good titles coming to it. What does the 360 really have... natal and more halo. Natal looks ok but i couldnt see me standing there and talking to a virtual person i would rather a pad in my hand and play a game.
Posted by: blakeyboy1982 on Sun Jun 14 08:56AM | Report abuseLIES!!!!!!!!!!!! WHO WROTE THIS PILE OF CRAP, A MICROSOFT FANBOY????? The Natal is nowhere as accurate as the Wii Motion and PS Motion, trhe Natal is laggy- and it sucks. Natal is NOTHING but an improved Eye Toy, nothing else, everything in Natal IS COPIED, pretty much what Microsoft is ALL THE TIME in Gaming, FAKES! Zelda is MENTIONED on E3, 360 DIDN'T have any good games on E3! NONE OF 360 GAMES are compared to the more superior 2 Mario, Zelda AND Metroid! YOU CAN'T TOP THAT WHEN IT COMES TO Softwares! Rising on PS3 as well, so THERE'S NO CHANCE Microsoft won that! Halo sucks and is the MOST HYPED GAME OF ALL TIME! It's not even good, it only sells coz it's hyped and it's Halo. Sony however, brought out an actual Hardware, no, make it 2 hardwares! What else, FFXIV, MAG, GT and more, oh and MGS:PW. So when it comes to Software, Nintendo wins (this time), you cannot outbeat 2 Traditional Mario Games, Golden Sun, Metroid w/ Team Ninja, New Zelda, Tatsunoko vs Capcom (yup, this game beats Tekken 6), and A LOT more. Since they brought out the Motion already, there's no new hardware for Nintendo, coz they normaly announce these lot when they're near release. Hardware will go to Sony, PSP Go and PS Motion controller. But sinced Natal and PS Motion is Camera based, onced it's covered, IT CAN'T DETECT, unlike the Wii, which can still be detected even if the sensor bar is blocked (it just wouldn't point). So the ACTUAL standing should be: 1.) Nintendo 2.) Sony (or Ties w/ Nintendo in first) 3.) Microsoft That's because ONLY Nintendo was original @ E3! Microsoft ISN'T ORIGINAL AT ALL Sony Copied a bit, but NOT AS BAD AS Microsoft did.

Posted by: strengthjay on Tue Jun 09 07:54PM | Report abuseWell PS3 already has this NATAL on eyetoy, like EyePet and all other no need controller games, its just a funked up eyetoy thats slimmer, still do the same stuff, But i bet you cant focus in like the EyeToy, and the games on XBOX are all nearly either old or extinct, only HALO is good, PS3 will override the games, just like it did with PS1, PS2. SONY should stay with games, they where the originals, Microsoft stick to computers, SONY are in front................nearly
Posted by: nathan.lyons1 on Tue Jun 16 06:29PM | Report abusenot sure about fightin games for Project Natal, you'll need tones of room. but mircosoft indeed had a good line-up, sony games dont impress in my view, and the wii is just something 90% of people play for just wii sports and wii fit. any other games just doesnt have much appeal.
