Sony has announced that the PS3 has now outsold the Xbox 360 in Europe - both consoles have sold around 5 million - despite being released over a year later. Blimey. There we were thinking that the 360 was the bees knees. It has always had the better games and Xbox Live is brilliant, easily bettering Sony's - and Nintendo's for that matter -online attempts. But things are clearly changing. The PS3 has gradually picked up gaming steam with titles like GT5 Prologue. And equally as important is Blu-ray, which has now "won" the next-generation DVD war after the withdrawal of the HD-DVD competitor (you know, the one you could buy a 360 add-on for). Combine this with PSP connectivity - Go View, the tie in with Sky that allows anyone to download Sky content and watch on their PSP looks very interesting - and an ever improving online service and you have a console on he rise.
But still, we can't decide. The 360 has better online and games - for now - and most of our friends are on it. Plus those achievement points are moreishly addictive. The PS3 has more reliable hardware, increasingly decent games and an online service, which while lacking Live's full feature set is at least free to use.
So, Xbox 360 or PS3 - which side of the fence are you on?

I think that ps3 is wel beta but xbox 360 is preety good aswell

You can now buy an xbox premium for £220 but then if you want XBOX live you have to pay £40 a year and then you have to buy a wireless adapter for a further £60 if you want your online to be quick and easy to install. so you already totalling at £320 for the first year alone. This is why PS3 is better because it has wireless bilt in(xbox you have to pay £60) to the consle,,, the online is FREE (xbox you have to pay £40 a year). The PS3 also has a Blue Ray player built into it for which cost like £200 pounds on there own and the PS3 controllers have motion sensors built into them like the WII. So for a 40GB PS3 you are saving like £300 (because wirelles is built in, online gaming is FREE and the BLUE RAY player is built in. SO in my view GET PS3 and dont bother by getting ripped off by microsoft!!!!!

Posted by: lee_muyo on Sun May 11 11:24PM | Report abusefor me no contest for all the reasons mentioned by beirniebabi plus the fact that the brilliant controller design has stayed the same since 1998. mgs 4 will probably seal the deal against the x360 ive never played one but i hear its well good and i think the fact that the wii bet both of them for so long is a testament to the fact that there are more casual gamers than serious gamers out there, xbox 1 had more power than it, come on
