It's Halo. We're buying it.

Of course it is really very good, but a whole bunch of people are going to be buying Halo 3: ODST simply because... well, it's the new Halo.

Have Xbox, need Halo. Gears of War too for that matter, but this week we're looking at the prospect of shooting more Covenant against the glorious backdrop of New Mombasa. Halo 3: ODST is a futuristic game of soldiers that your Xbox 360 was made for. Literally. We'll all be buying it in droves. But we dare say some of us are being there not to be square. How can you own an Xbox 360 and NOT the new Halo?

If you are planning on buying Halo 3: ODST and actually playing it to within an inch of its life, our advice is to avoid reading any spoilers, because every new detail is worth discovering for yourself. We are, rather sadistically, chuckling at the thought of newbie Halo players venturing online for the first time at such a stage where some of the pros are like Premier League footballers versus non-league heroes. So, good luck there.

In any case, like it or not all ye Halo haters, ODST is very much an event to be a part of. It seems almost idiotic but, no questions asked, everyone with an Xbox needs every new Halo. And it doesn't even matter if it never gets played, right?
