Electronic Arts is bringing the iconic US equivalent of Action Man to all consoles including DS and PSP, arriving to coincide with the live-action film this summer. It is described as ‘an over-the-top action adventure video game that will thrill gamers as well as G.I. Joe fans.’ The G.I. Joe videogame continues the storyline where the live-action movie leaves off and players can choose from 12 characters, ‘each with unique abilities and weapons’. There are solo and co-op campaign modes for gameplay on the same console. No mention of online modes has been made so far. EA will publish G. I. Joe across the entire PlayStation family, both Nintendo DS and Wii consoles, Xbox 360, and mobile devices. The Stephen Sommers movie from Paramount and Spyglass, “G.I. JOE: THE RISE OF COBRA”, opens in early August. It stars Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Christopher Eccleston, Sienna Miller, and Rachel Nichols.
