No sooner had we published the story below than the first pics of the newly announced PS3 Slim popped up. Slick, is it not? It’s smaller than its immediate predecessor too, measuring 290 x 65 290mm (width, height, length). Otherwise pretty much everything appears to be in place, with ethernet, HDMI, optical and AV Multi out sockets around the back, plus a couple of USB 2.0 connections on the front panel. Weight-wise we’re looking at 3.2 kilograms or thereabouts. By all accounts the Slim is quieter in operation too. Not that the old model’s noise level was ever much of an issue.
