Oh dear, the Wii is still taking a bath in the console-hungry Japanese games market. However things do seem to have evened out a bit, at least to the extent that sales for the week ending April 19th are only 128 less than the previous week. Nintendo must really be hoping that they’ve finally reached the bottom of the barrel.

Elsewhere PS3 sales have taken a very dramatic turn skywards, thanks to the release in Japan of a Final Fantasy XIII demo. Indeed, more than 45,000 extra sales have been added in just seven short days, and the Playstation 3 has made a triumphant return to the top of the pile. We can’t wait to see what happens when FFXIII finally launches!
