The January issue of Game Informer has landed a killer exclusive - the unveiling of the next chapter in Nathan Drake‘s excellent adventures.

Uncharted 2: Among Thieves, as this PS3 sequel will be known, is covered in an exhaustive 10-page preview within the magazine, little of which is detailed in the teaser published on the web. However they do let a few info nuggets roll from their overflowing platter, such as how this new outing is spun around the voyages of 13th century explorer Marco Polo and features new characters, locations and includes free-climbing and stealth-based gameplay. The cover artwork (pictured) also indicates that Drake may spend at least some of the game hanging by his fingertips from a crashed railway carriage. Dramatic stuff indeed - developers Naughty Dog are going to have to try really hard for this not to ROCK!

Check out the magazine for more information and, when you find yourself with an idle moment to fill, take a butcher’s at the frustratingly brief video trailer posted at gameinformer.com where you’ll see an injured Nathan struggle across a snowbound mountainside to retrieve an ancient artefact, all the while bemoaning his bad luck.

Meanwhile we learn that game will be receive a proper world premiere at the forthcoming Video Game Awards, less than two weeks hence. Can’t wait…!
