Naughty Dog creative director, Amy Hennig, has revealed that Uncharted 2: Among Thieves will most certainly not be the last of Nathan Drake’s excellent adventures.

First things first, though, and it was announced late yesterday afternoon that the launch of Uncharted 2 is actually moving forward in the calendar. The new UK release date is October 16th, and not the 23rd as previously scheduled. Hey, the sooner we can get to grips with this brilliant looking game the better, right?

But moving on, and Hennig has good news for fans of the franchise, telling viewers of the official US PlayStation Blog:

"Our expectation with Uncharted is that it can be an ongoing franchise as long as people want more of it. All these stories are self-contained enough ...to play the last one, to play this one – obviously you can get a bit more out of it if you have... but he’s going to have lots more adventures, thank god.”

Elsewhere Hennig talks about the sort of characteristics that potential employees need to work within Naughty Dog, and details the company’s almost comically non-existent hierarchy:

“We expect people to be really independent, really self-starting – ‘cos we don’t have any management, we don’t have any producers at the company. Everybody’s just expected to know what they need to do and get on with it. It’s a really organic, sort of hive-mind structure... We call it organised chaos”

If that sounds like a recipe for disaster, Hennig assures us that everybody within the company gets involved in making the games, right up to the big bosses, one of whom was lead programmer on Uncharted 2's much-vaunted multiplayer gameplay. Also we learn that Uncharted 2 will offer more adventure and puzzle-solving elements than its predecessor: “...Maybe 60/40 – like 60% gunplay, 40% adventuring. It might even tip a little bit in the other direction.”

And finally she has an answer to the question that’s on all our lips “...of course it will be awesome!”
