It isn’t often that you get something for nothing in life. However Microsoft is repackaging the entry level Xbox 360 ‘Arcade’ with double the built-in memory for precisely nought extra pence in cost. Very generous! "We are doubling the size of the internal memory of the Xbox 360 Arcade from 256 MB to 512 MB," a Microsoft spokeschap tells Kotaku.com. "We want to offer consumers a bit more memory at the same low price so they can enjoy more experiences on Xbox LIVE." So, there you go. The new Arcade will use the cooler, cheaper to run ‘Jasper’ motherboard too. However we’re wondering why Microsoft only stopped at 512 MB – memory, after all, is cheap as chips these days. Pun intended. Microsoft, true to form, has not supplied a launch date for the new Arcade, although we reckon it’ll be soon. As such it’s probably best to hold fire if you’re in the market for one.
