Better get used to the current Xbox 360 price structure, folks, ’cos Microsoft says it won’t be discounting again any time soon… This not entirely unexpected bombshell is detonated by MS UK head of Entertainment and Gaming, Steven McGill, in an interview with videogamer.com. Rightly he deems his product range as “incredibly affordable” and he is unequivocal in stating: “We're a great price now. I'm not dropping the price for many, many years in the future I would suspect." No real surprises there, eh? Also it’s easy for Microsoft to talk like this while Xboxes are selling by the truckload and its main rival Sony seems so intent on maintaining the PS3’s lofty price point - the PS3 starts at £299. Of course, if 360 sales suddenly grind to a halt or Sony unexpectedly sees sense maybe Microsoft will revisit 360 pricing many, many years earlier than expected. Right now, though, with Gears 2 about to launch and the entry level Xbox 360 Arcade being as cheap as chips… well, we’ve no real reason to complain, have we?
