‘Scuse the 80s poptastic pun, but Ubisoft has just announced a treat for loyal fans of Prince of Persia - a free and exclusive unlockable skin of Assassin’s Creed’s brooding Hero, Altair, to use in the game, See - Altaired Images, geddit?

Here’s how it works - head over to http://prince-of-persia.uk.ubi.com, hit the ‘sign up’ option and get yourselves an account. It doesn’t cost anything and the process is not overly onerous or intrusive. After that you need to link your newly created account to an existing PSN or Xbox LIVE account and then, when you begin playing the game, you’ll have the apparently immediate option to don the robes of Altair‘s ancient order. Will it make a sod of difference to the gameplay or your acrobatic madskillz? Nope, but you’ll look a lot cooler, and those Persian chicks go crazy for those white n’ red threads. Probably.

“Prince of Persia is an incredible experience. We’re thrilled to give our loyal fans another way to journey through it,” says POP producer Ben Mattes. “This exclusive reward is a ‘thank you’ to our fans.”

Well, we’re not sure we’d go as far as “incredible” but after a recent hands-on we can confirm it is very good indeed - and it looks absolutely *ace*. Find out for yourselves when the game is released on Xbox 360 and PS3 on December 5th.
