A larger storage capacity PlayStation 3 will be available in the US from 3 November, and almost certain to arrive on these shores shortly after. Sony America’s official PlayStation blog has announced a new 250GB slim-line PlayStation 3 to arrive in time for the ‘holiday season’. The newcomer will be priced $349.99 in the States, comparable to the Microsoft’s recently unveiled 250GB Xbox 360 bundles that will include Forza 3 or Modern Warfare 2. Sony itself will not be bundling a game with its 250GB console, but then you are getting a Blu-ray player into the bargain. The PlayStation blog mentions how the original 120GB PS3 slim sold one million units worldwide within its first three weeks. This latest model is aimed at users that already make full use of the hard drive with installed-to-disc games, PlayStation Network games, music and films. Sony will launch its UK arm of the PlayStation Network Video Delivery service in late November. Don’t be surprised if the 250GB PS3 arrives around the same time.
