LittleBigPlanet news site launches [PS3]

Friday August 8, 12:03 PM LittleBigPlanet news site launches

Impossible as it may seem the day that LittleBigPlanet launches – and simultaneously bakes the noodles of PS3 owners across the globe – is just around the corner. To which encouraging end Sony has just launched an official LBP news site.

Yep, we thought we’d be doomed to watch tantalising gameplay trailers forever without ever laying our mitts on the actual product too. However Sony now seems fixed on an October 08 release date, and the newly-launched blog-style annexe to the official game site (http://littlebigplanet.us.playstation.com/) would seem to support the evidence that everything is finally going to plan.

There’s not a lot to see up there at the moment, but it’s all enticingly jolly, readers can opt for RSS or email updates as new news is posted, there’s a mildly diverting option to customise the front page and, as site editor ‘Sackboy103’ promises, there’s plenty of LBP-related fun in the pipeline:

“...Stay tuned for categories like "LBP 101," "SackBoy in the news," "LittleBigChallenges" and much, much, more,” He says, adding intriguingly...

“For now, the news site will keep you informed, educated and hopefully excited about our release in October, but eventually, our website will evolve into something much bigger and better to support our community of Players, Creators and Sharers.”

So that’ll be some kind of LBP community hub where users can display/trade their creations, building tips etc? Sounds good whatever it is. Let’s just hope that the game itself lives up to our way beyond lofty expectations, eh!
