Tony Hawk: Ride ups the ante on EA’s Skate series by including a nifty, motion-sensing skateboard peripheral to virtually scoot about on. But how much are you prepared to pay for the privilege? Try a whopping £99.99, which is certainly entering the realms of real skateboard territory. That said, those of you who prefer to keep your shins, ankles and teeth intact may prefer the wheel-less pretend version instead. Far better to fall off and get a face-full of sofa cushions than corporation concrete, eh. Anyhwho, the standard edition skateboard peripheral is all well and good in its workaday black n’ grey livery but GAME is offering an exclusive, Hawk branded alternative, complete with a moody eagle motif and in a fetching shade of bleeding nose red. Better yet the ‘board is available for all console editions and at no additional cost premium – the same price fits all. So that’s good, right? Shame then that there doesn’t seem to be a cheaper option for anyone without £100 going spare or who doesn’t want a chunky plastic skateboard cluttering up the place long after any interest in the game has died. Hmmm. Tony Hawk: Ride is out for PS3, Xbox 360 and Wii on November 20th.
