Creators Bungie confirm “Halo 3 multiplayer stuff” but no “big announcement” on the agenda for its Penny Arcade Expo presence next month. Ever since last week’s big games industry expo, E3, fans have been craving for an announcement that was assumed but never came. But this supposed all-new Halo game remains a dream while the series creators Bungie are honour-bound to stay tight lipped… although not without dropping a few hints. The next major event for gamers takes place in America at the end of August – the Penny Arcade Expo, or PAX. Bungie will be exhibiting there, showing off all-new multiplayer content for Halo 3, but that’s about all. So says a posting on Bungie’s site (http://www.bungie.net) this morning: “Rest assured that when the time is right, we will be making announcements and talking about the stuff we're currently working on. At the moment we do have three distinct projects underway within Bungie - some familiar, some not. Some on a closer horizon, some quite far off.” Which is about as vague as you’re ever going to get. We’re all assuming that these three distinct projects are Halo related, of course. But there’s every chance they could be platform games starring furry animals for Nintendo DS after Bungie split from Microsoft last November. Well, at least we know there’s more Halo 3 multiplayer maps on the way.
