We have good news and ever so slightly not quite so good news for owners of the PS3 version of Grand Theft Auto IV this morning.

Good news first, then, and an update arriving next Monday (Oct 27th) adds a sizeable collection of 51 Trophies to the game. Hey, cheers! The senseless and morally bankrupt deeds you’ll need to perform in order to catch ’em all have not been officially detailed yet, however we understand the PS3 Trophies to be broadly the same as the Xbox 360‘s Achievements.

Moving on and here’s the whiffy air-biscuit in this otherwise latecoming but still pristine elevator - the Trophies cannot be collected retroactively. In other words if you’ve already invested 40 hours in the game you’re going to have to start all over again if you want to earn these accolades.
