Xbox Facebook date leaked [X360]

Monday October 12, 09:25 AM Xbox Facebook date leaked

The Xbox 360. Don’t think of it as a mere games console, but see it as the all-singing, dancing, cuppa-making, social network-organising tool it was always destined to be. And it takes a large step closer to reaching that particular nirvana when the Facebook, Last.FM and Twitter services launch on Xbox LIVE. Oh, that’s on November 17th, by the way...

You can take that as kosher too, since the date was printed large as life on the relevant Xbox.com UK landing page (xbox.com/en-GB/social/). Or at least it was – eagle-eyed types spotted the big reveal over the weekend, before Xbox bods located the leak and plugged it pronto. The legend now reads “Service launches Autumn 2009”. Spoilsports.

But the cat’s already legged it out of the bag – Joystiq.com even managed to capture pictorial evidence (check it). In any case, a recent Xbox LIVE outage was performed in the name of readying the service for the arrival of Facebook et al. Plus there’s talk of a beta test for Gold subscribers kicking off before the end of October. In short, enjoy your spare time while you can – Facebook, Twitter and Last.FM are launching soon.
