You wait years for a new Metal Gear to come along, Konami finally graces us with one and then, relatively promptly, starts tantalising us with the notion of a brand new game. They’re not saying much, mind - little more than five frustratingly short words and a handful of symbols, in fact. However speculation is already rife that this new outing, whatever it’s going to be called, is heading to Xbox 360. First things first, then - head over to www.konami.jp/kojima_pro/mgst/ where you’ll be greeted with a formula in which i + ! apparently equals the symbol generally used on a power-on button. Meanwhile underneath the legend reads “A Next Metal Gear Is…” And that‘s all there is to see, but what’s really set tongues-a-wagging is the colour scheme employed throughout - all symbols and text are displayed in what can only be described as lurid Xbox green. Ach, maybe it’s all just wishful thinking on our part. Then again a move Xbox 360 does seem to make sense doesn’t it? Particularly with the console kicking ass on a global scale right now. A multiple platform release is probably more likely, though. Whatever the case it looks like we’ll find out soon enough - Hideo Kojima has already said that he will reveal the next chapter in the Metal Gear series sometime next year - possibly at the next Tokyo Game Show. Can’t wait…!
