The latest blockbuster Xbox 360 adventure gives birth to a new island, yours to explore for 800 Microsoft Points.

From mid-December, just in time for official Christmas lazing about, the Xbox 360 game Fable II gets its first premium download content. It takes the form of a new location, Knothole Island where magical artefacts control the weather… and have gotten rather out of hand, freezing the place over. Only a true warrior (with 800 Microsoft Points in his leather purse) can restore the island to its former beauty.

For the Xbox 360 gamer this means hooking up with barmy inventor Gordon who is recruiting for likely candidates in Bowerstone docks. He’ll ferry you via submarine to Knothole Island where three caves house the three magical treasures, and where secrets of a resurrection shrine await.

Also on this island are new shops selling amusing potions that can change your physical appearance (weight loss among them), cool new outfits that include assassin garb and armoured knight accoutrements. Exclusive weapons can be bought in addition to collecting a new Augment tool that’ll improve performance of weapons you already own.

The Knothole Island download is available free-of-charge flavour too but this version only introduces you to Gordon who’ll give you a taste of the fantastical new items, moonlighting out of his submarine… probably at marked up prices knowing him!
