32 players for Wii MOH [X360]

No doubt the Wii Medal of Honor experience is not going to be anywhere near as lovely looking as its PS3 and Xbox 360 counterparts, but we’re liking the sound of 32-player online gameplay plenty!

That’s official too, people, according to an EA statement regarding the forthcoming Medal of Honor Heroes 2 game. Furthermore US specialist mag Gamepro is reporting that Heroes 2 will abandon the friend code system beloved of other online Wii and DS titles, and allow players to jump in and out of battles as they like – inna wiggedy-wack WarHawk-style. Shabba!

It’s another great move for the Wii and proves that the two-Gamecubes-stuck-together console is more than up to meeting the challenge of its peers even if it doesn’t match ‘em graphically. After all Xbox LIVE can only host 16-player matches online and the 360 iteration of MOH: Airborne supports only 12. Surely Microsoft isn’t going to let this go unanswered?

It should be a good one, then, allowing for the occasional bit of visual ropiness. There’s Wii Zapper functionality bound-in too. Medal of Honor Heroes 2 is out November 23rd. Screenshots soon.
