Mark of the Wolves on Xbox LIVE Arcade [X360]

Wednesday June 24, 11:35 AM Mark of the Wolves on Xbox LIVE Arcade

It’s a fighting game, and one of the very best, before you ask. Also a puzzle game called Droplitz – both available to download for Xbox 360 from today.

Last time we checked, “Garou: Mark of the Wolves” was selling for around £250-300 on eBay. Now you can download this 1999 fighting game for 800 Microsoft Points, equivalent to around £6. It’s not just the rarity of this Neo-Geo (ancient console) cartridge that holds its value, Mark of the Wolves is viewed by fighting game fans as one of the very best if not the best available even after Street Fighter IV.

We downloaded MOW this morning and can report that SNK Playmore has left the game pretty much untouched, that is the bare-bones arcade version with no graphical enhancements other than ‘blur’ if you prefer it that way. The online options are straightforward Quick Match, Custom Match etc. This is all you’ll ever need.

Also on Xbox LIVE Arcade today is the Blitz Games puzzler called Droplitz”. It involves twisting dials to line up passageways for ‘droplitz’ (droplets?) of gooey stuff. The more you save the more points are earned in four gameplay modes. Blitz have been in the games business for longer than we can remember so we’re trusting “Droplitz” to be a grower. This is also 800MS points. £300 might be pushing it.

Assuming you’re reading this at your PC, don’t forget that you can log into your Xbox LIVE account to browse Xbox LIVE Marketplace and buy games before leaving the office to go home. This is dangerous information and we apologise for passing this on.
