EA Russia says too much [PS3]

Monday October 12, 8:02 AM EA Russia says too much

Electronic Arts Russia has just unveiled a couple of high profile titles for PS3 that were previously thought to be 360/PC-only exclusives. Very naughty...

First up Mass Effect 2. This galaxy-spanning sequel was formally unveiled for Xbox 360 and Windows PC earlier in the year, and developers Bioware had rather given us to believe that the entire trilogy would remain tied to those platforms. Also, and correct us if we’re wrong, but doesn’t Microsoft actually publish Mass Effect too? On Xbox 360 they do, anyway.

None of which seems to concern our comrades over at EA Russia, who happily confirmed the forthcoming game as appearing on PC, 360 and PS3 over the weekend. To the horror of marketing types at Microsoft, Bioware and the Western European offices of EA, no doubt.

But that’s not the only gaff – the EA Russia site has also lifted the lid on a PS3 version of Left 4 Dead 2. That may well be news to the game’s developers, Valve, who have stated on numerous occasions that they’re not working on such a variant.

It remains to be seen whether any of this turns out to be true, although we note that offending content on EA Russia’s site has been hastily edited. Meanwhile we await the flurry of official denials and no comments with weary resign and predict extended trips to the Siberian salt mines for all parties concerned.
