We count two so far this year and it’s only February! Littlest Pet Shop is from EA and Hasbro though, which surely means cute critters officially ‘in’ for 09.

In support of the sixth Littlest Pet Shop title to be released in March, Littlest Pet Shop Spring for DS, Electronic Arts and Hasbro will launch a new website. But don’t call it a website. Call it an online community destination for pre-teen girls. So if you do insist on calling it a website, at least draw circle instead of a dot over the ‘i’.

In a similar fashion to the Square Enix DS game’s My Pet Shop website, announced here recently, the Littlest Pet Shop Online ‘experience’ allows girls (why not boys?) to play cute little games, chat with friends and customise their pets.

If you’re interested in following up on this unstoppable Littlest Pet Shop phenomenon, bear in mind that you currently have ‘Winter’, ‘Garden’ and ‘Jungle’ editions on DS and one vanilla Littlest Pet Shop edition apiece for PC and Wii. But if you have a tween-age girl at home you probably already own the lot.
