Nervous types, look away. Those of you with made of sterner stuff and who are officially old enough to stomach “BLOOD AND GORE, INTENSE VIOLENCE, PARTIAL NUDITY, SEXUAL THEMES, STRONG LANGUAGE” should check out the F.E.A.R 2 Project Origin demo that’s just been posted on Xbox LIVE. That’s the word according to Xbox blogmeister, Major Nelson. And, having enjoyed, nay, endured a goodly amount of face-time with the game recently, we can attest to at least four of the above listed highlights. Obviously we blushed and looked away during the nudey bits, and plugged our ears singing loudly when the language got too fruity. Oof! But F.E.A.R 2 surely impressed us. Kicking off shortly before its predecessor finished, this sequel feels less confined in its decimated city setting. Certainly it’s no less nerve-jangling, either, as Alma Wade’s supernatural superpowers threaten to overwhelm humanity and new character Sergeant Michael Beckett leads his squad into battle using whatever weaponry or madcap transports are available. Put simply Feb 13th - a Friday, of course - can’t come soon enough. The demo is for single-players, and only those over 18 with an XBL Gold sub who do not reside in Germany or Asia. If those criteria don’t exclude you it’s 759MB and a tantalising wait while it trundles down your pipe. Thereafter don’t blame us for the nightmares…
