Drop by Xbox.com from 5pm tomorrow to view a Halo 3 ‘diorama’ ad. We guess this'll take some explaining.

The model-making studio behind Jurassic Park and Aliens has been involved with the TV, cinema and online ad for Halo 3. Stan Winston studio built a massive 400sq ft model reaching 12ft high depicting a Halo battle, with human figurines standing 8inches tall representing Master Chief and his men versus the Covenant. This museum-style diorama tells the stories of individual Spartan soldiers.

This novel TV ad featuring the diorama will debut on Tuesday evening at 9.35pm during ITV1’s coverage of the Champions League (FC Porto v Liverpool). However you can see the full thing on Xbox.com from 5pm tomorrow, where an interactive version of the diorama is also available to explore.

Halo 3 for Xbox 360 is released in the UK on 26 September.
