Capcom retro avalanche for PSN [PSP]

Thursday July 2, 7:37 AM Capcom retro avalanche for PSN

A massive collection of Capcom oldies, bundled and heading to the PlayStation Network for play on the PSP. What’s not to like?

Absolutely nothing. And here’s why: 1941: Counter Attack, Avengers, Commando, Black Tiger, Block Block, Captain Commando, Final Fight, Forgotten Worlds, Last Duel, Legendary Wings, Magic Sword, Mega Twins, Quiz and Dragons, Section Z, Side Arms: Hyper Dyne, The Speed Rumbler, Street Fighter, Strider, Three Wonders and Varth – they’re all part of ‘Capcom Classic Collection: Remixed’. That’s 20 games-in-one download, or, looking at it another way, a whole arcade’s worth of solid-gold retro fun.

There’s more shameless trawling of the Capcom archives in prospect too, with Mega Man Powered Up, Dino Crisis, Power Stone Collection, Mega Man Maverick Hunter X, Resident Evil 2, Darkstalkers, Street Fighter Alpha 3 Max, Resident Evil 3: Nemesis, Capcom Classics Collection: Reloaded (another compilation, we presume) and 3D anime brawl-fest, Fate/Unlimited Codes – all are heading to PSN over the coming weeks and months. The latter arriving in time for the PSPgo launch.

But back to the Capcom Classics Collection. The ‘Remixed’ tag suggests that the visuals and/or gameplay have been monkeyed with – not too much, we hope. No price is mentioned, but the US PlayStation blog reckons it’s arriving today. No further instructions are necessary, right?
