Charts: Witness the Fitness

Tuesday January 20, 09:02 AM

Out with the old and in with the, er, old. Wii Fit is back at the top of the all formats/full price charts - for the fifth time since launch too. Well, at least FIFA’s been given the boot…

Wii Fit’s not entirely unexpected resurgence is the result of an 18% jump in sales, meaning that stock must (temporarily) be back on the shelves again. And that makes us wonder how many more times the game could have secured the top spot if only Nintendo could magic-up a supply that actually meets demand. But let’s not get into that all over again.

So Wii Fit succeeds and FIFA trips its bootlaces, losing 35% of last week’s sales into the bargain. The game‘s far from over, though, and EA have plenty to feel pleased about in the meantime with Lord of the Rings Conquest scoring the highest-placed new entry at three. Otherwise this week’s chart is very much of a muchness, as you’ll see below:

1. Wii Fit (4)
2. Call of Duty: World at War (2)
3. The Lord of the Rings: Conquest (NE)
4. FIFA 09 (1)
5. Need for Speed: Undercover (3)
6. Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games (6)
7. Guitar Hero: World Tour (5)
8. Dr Kawashima’s Brain Training (9)
9. Fallout 3 (11)
10.Mario Kart Wii (7)
