By the time you’re reading this Xbox LIVE should be back up and running, after 24 too-long hours offline. Microsoft has a small reward for your patience too – a third Xbox LIVE Arcade release for today. Nicely! Rocket Riot, from THQ, actually looks like it’s going to be the pick of the bunch too. It’s a side-scrolling, jetpack-fuelled and especially frantic fire-fight with oldskool visuals given a nifty three-dimensional twist and gameplay that is somewhat akin to Worms, albeit faster and more explosive. There’s a lengthy, 80 mission single-player mode and competitive fun for four playing on the same Xbox. Online looks like the place to be, though, with a quartet of play options for up to eight players. Most of all, Rocket Riot looks like an absolute blast - check the screens. Rocket Riot costs 800 MS Points (£6.80) and joins Sam & Max Save the World and Magic the Gathering: Duels of the Planeswalkers. A good day for LIVE Arcade, we think.
