Singles: Flirt Up Your Life E3 2004 First Look
After making a splash by releasing some racy screenshots, Eidos will show off the US version of its game Singles: Flirt Up Your Life at this year's Electronic Entertainment Expo in Los Angeles. Like the Sims, Singles is a life simulation where you'll take control of digital characters and help them manage their lives, including basic life needs like cooking, eating, cleaning, and developing a career. Where Singles differentiates itself is in its focus on romantic relationships, and the risqué situations that arise from developing them.
The game includes 12 different male and female characters, each of whom is carefully modeled with more than 30,000 polygons for extreme detail in every part of the body. Aside from a sophisticated lighting engine that renders shadows dynamically in 3D environments, Singles includes realistic facial expressions for all characters. Since so much of the game's focus is on building romantic relationships, it'll be important for you to gauge other characters' emotions by their reactions to you and their facial expressions.
Currently, Singles is slated to release later this spring. Eidos plans to distribute the game online, with a suggested retail price of $29.99. We'll bring more information on the game as it becomes available.
