The Games Of PlayStation 3

Big sequels to Gran Theft Auto, Metal Gear, and Tekken will make their debuts on PlayStation 3. Every publisher in the world still wants a slice of PlayStation, so you really won’t be struggling for choice. And if what Sony says is true – PS3 ‘twice as powerful’ than Xbox 360 – every game that appears on Xbox 360 will look better too. But, careful you don’t swallow that hook line and sinker.

Fight Night Round 3
Electronic Arts
EA only demonstrated this for PlayStation 3, suggesting that a) it’s only coming to PS3, but more importantly b) only PS3 can do such things. Namely, when two heavyweight boxers start throwing punches, the blows realistically scrunch up the skin on impact. Also, that you must judge a rival’s health according to how much ‘fight’ there is left in his facial expression and general composure. No stamina bars required. If XBox 360 launches with Fight Night and it’s just as good, may as well buy a 360 because this was hinted as a PS3-only experience.

Metal Gear Solid 4
Konami
Nothing at all has been seen on this, but the announcement that it’s PS3-exclusive (at least for a year) is hot enough. We have some details though: Solid Snake is the main character; events are set directly after Metal Gear Solid 2, and that online will play a major role this time (some of you may remember this was suggested for MGS2. Ah well.) The game’s famous director, Hideo Kojima, recently established his own studio within Konami to concentrate all his efforts on producing next generation of games.
