The young tearaway son of the Grim Reaper has landed himself and his equally oddball friends in a heap of hellish trouble. While on a fieldtrip to the local museum, Death Jr – you can call him DJ – thinks it would be a wild idea for them to explore on their own. A mysterious box proves too tempting to resist, but upon opening it DJ unleashes an ancient demon, Moloch, along with the obligatory hordes of evil! The world is transformed into a distorted nightmare, and it’s up to you to help DJ straighten things out.

With DJ’s skill for handling all kinds of weapon, you’re all set to face the combined first-person-shooter/platform-action ahead. DJ’s trademark instrument of destruction is his scythe, which also serves as a makeshift platform, climbing tool, and (ahem)‘death’ slide. The scythe is reliable but more heavy-duty tools are required to defeat larger or more agile enemies, and this means guns – although, like DJ, these are hardly conventional. Okay there’s the chaingun, shotgun and rocket-launcher to start off with, but DJ can also summon lightning, shoot fire and ice to frazzle or freeze (making platforms out of enemies), and even let loose exploding hamsters into the fray!
